Nine years of research has gone into this 119 page book on the previously little known history and patterns of the bobbin lace of Suffolk, England. The book is arranged in two parts with the first section devoted to the history, lace, dealers and bobbins belonging to this lace. The second part is devoted to the patterns characteristic of this lace. The author has carefully redrawn, made and diagrammed 38 point ground patterns that have been in the safe keeping of the V&A Museum in London since 1875. This is a must for any student of the English and point ground laces. An all new contemporary look at grounds. Uta Ulrich takes her inspiration from tradition and creates a wonderful new reference of 448 grounds including 132 variations on rose grounds! Useful to new and experienced lacemakers each ground is pictured and includes a working diagram and brief instructions. At the end of the book the more common names of the grounds are listed in English, French, Swedish, Danish, Dutch and Italian. Don't miss this fabulous new DVD on Bucks Point. Although the fundamentals are reviewed this comprehensive DVD presumes you already have the basics of Bucks point and picks up at the intermediate level. New techniques include cucumber foot, tallies in point and honeycomb ground, corners, mayflower in honeycomb, starting and finishing a bookmark, gimp fingers, working a hexagon, holes in cloth stitch and headside techniques. This 6 1/2 hour DVD comes with 6 printed pages of patterns and diagrams. There are five patterns that include bookmarks, edgings with corners, a hexagon and circular motif. Produced in four languages this is one of Brigitte Bellon's best Christmas themed pattern books to date. Not only are the patterns delightful and fun to make for both beginners and continuing students of bobbin lace, her new technical diagrams and descriptions in 4 languages make this book a wonderful learning tool.
The patterns include 2 angels, 3 motifs with candles, 18 stars, 7 hearts, 4 bells, a Christmas tree, a Christmas stocking and a snowman, 2 crib motifs and the three wise men. Some of these 42 new patterns are worked in white, color and metallics. The variety of techniques used are mainly braid lace with plaits, Schneeberger lace, Russian braid lace and Cluny.

Ulrike Voelcker has done it again with the publication of this new pattern book on Chantilly Lace. The book is divided into 3 sections: New designs, Reconstructed Laces and Blonde Lace. The patterns are sensational and organized by level of difficulty. We are thrilled to have this wonderful new publication in time for Lace Day 2007 where Ulrike will be teaching this beautiful lace. This huge 3 disk DVD offers the latest instruction on Flanders Lace. By working three edging patterns Sally Schoenberg teaches the essentials of Flanders Lace including the 5-hole ground, half of a ground stitch, joining in two times, inputs, outputs, snowflakes and the overlapping finish. All new beginners guide to bobbin lace. By working a series of bookmarks lacemakers learn the fundamentals of bobbin lacemaking that include twist, cross, cloth stitch, half stitch, Torchon grounds, spiders and trails. Additional patterns include Torchon edgings for scarves, bags, cushions and more that are worked in color and various fibers. Back in print, this exciting new title is a result of a lace collection found in 2002 that included 700 lace samples dating back to the 18th century. Carol McFadzean has redrawn and worked 40 of these samples of mostly geometric point ground patterns. A must for the student of point ground laces! This second book on Devon Trolly Lace concentrates on the lace patterns from the sampler, sachet and work bag sent to Queen Victoria at the beginning of her reign. Carol McFadzean explains that the sampler originally had 69 samples on it, but 5 were selected by the Queen, so 64 in total remain on the sampler and 24 of them have been redrawn and reworked for the first time in over 160 years. Come meet and see Carol McFadzean at the 2008 Ithaca Lace Day where she will be teaching Devon Trolly Lace!

In some respects it picks up where the OIDFA Point Ground Study leaves off by studying in much more detail the history and technique, including patterns and drawings of Dentelles et Blondes, Liebenau, Erzgebirge, Point of L'Aquila, Point Ground Lace of Slovenia, and Ret-Fi Lace of Spain. Text in English, French, Spanish, German and Slovensko. Another absolutely beautiful book on Blondes, Chantilly et Caen. Produced on high quality paper this book is lavishly illustrated with colored pictures of the designs of Pierre LANDRY. There is a section on the history and designs with some beautiful patterns in the last section. Text in French. Finally a book on a lace not yet documented. This book is a how-to book on the technique of Hunnia lace which is a Hungarian bobbin lace. This comprehensive analysis of this fascinating lace comes complete with patterns, color coded diagrams and is in English, French and German. Volume 2 of La dentelle torch on is just as nice as volume 1. Lots of really nice innovative patterns with clever interpretations of Torchon prickings using multiple fibers.
